China PMI signal continued slowdown

Activity in China’s manufacturing sector weakened in June, underscoring a sustained slowdown in the economy. The official purchasing manager’s index fell to 50.1, the lowest level in four months, from 50.8, according to the National Bureau of Statistics and China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. At the same time, HSBC’s manufacturing PMI declined to 48.2 in June from 49.2 in the previous month.
