"ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport and KUKA - motorsports and automation - there are many similarities: Apart from speed and precision, the companies live by their innovative power and high quality standards. They intensively deal with the topic of automotive and e-mobility", explains Reuter. And adds: "Currently about half of our sales of around 3 billion euros comes from the automotive sector. I am convinced that we will successfully shape the partnership between ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport and KUKA, which has just begun."
But the robots of KUKA not only build cars, they are also installed in them. In the unique concept car Rinspeed Budii, the sensitive KUKA LBR iiwa takes over the function of the steering column. In this way, the co-driver can simply take over the steering – which also completely disappears when the autopilot turns on. This is just one of numerous examples of how KUKA, in addition to working with Formula E, is shaping the future of (e-) mobility with a great deal of innovative power.
