LGT receives Global Private Banking Awards

October 27, 2017

LGT was designated "Best Private Bank for Growth Strategy" for the second consecutive year by the Financial Times Group’s publications PWM (Professional Wealth Management) and The Banker. The bank of the Princely House of Liechtenstein was also awarded "Best Private Bank in Liechtenstein" and the distinction "highly commended" in the "Best Private Bank for Socially Responsible Investing" category. The awards ceremony was held yesterday in London.

"We are very pleased to have received the award for the best growth strategy for two years in a row", says Thomas Piske, CEO LGT Private Banking. "In recent years we have systematically expanded our international business – on the one hand through organic growth, but also through a number of significant acquisitions in our core markets. As a result, we have succeeded in almost doubling our assets under management in the last five years. The Global Private Banking Award confirms that we are on the right track with our strategy." LGT received a total of three accolades at the awards ceremony in London. In addition to "Best Private Bank for Growth Strategy" and "Best Private Bank in Liechtenstein", the bank also received a "highly commended" distinction in the "Best Private Bank for Socially Responsible Investing" category.

Jury member and Editor-in-Chief of PWM Yuri Bender: "The judges’ attention was drawn to substantial increases in client assets, net new money, numbers of customers and numbers of relationship managers, together reflecting LGT’s focused growth strategy." They also noted LGT’s establishment of private banking platforms in key international locations, backed by a centralized IT infrastructure, thanks to which the bank was able to make a number of important acquisitions. "Combining these building blocks with expertise in alternative and socially responsible investments has helped LGT to construct a convincing story", says Yuri Bender.

The Global Private Banking Awards are conferred on banks by the Financial Times publications Professional Wealth Management and The Banker. They are among the most prestigious international awards in the private banking industry and were presented this year for the ninth time. An independent jury consisting of 16 experts assessed, among other criteria, the banks’ business and growth strategies and their client relationship management.
