“We have been focusing on private banking and asset management for almost twenty years. During that time, we have expanded our business internationally and have continuously strengthened our expertise in various investment segments such as alternative investments. The two awards we received at the Global Private Banking Awards confirm that this long-term focus and the ongoing improvement of our investment expertise are paying off,” says Thomas Piske, CEO LGT Private Banking. Yesterday evening’s awards ceremony in London marked the third time that LGT received the “Best Private Bank for Growth Strategy” award. It is also the first institution to receive the newly introduced “Best Private Bank for Alternatives” award.
Thomas Piske is particularly pleased by the award for the best private bank in alternative investments. “We have invested a lot of time and energy into enhancing our expertise and into building up an international network of leading investment managers in this segment. These efforts are also appreciated by our clients. Asset classes such as private equity and insurance-linked strategies in particular are becoming increasingly popular with private clients. Alternative investments are highly attractive for diversification purposes and also generate attractive returns. Moreover, environmental, social and governance aspects are increasingly being taken into consideration for these investments – this is another matter that is becoming more and more important to our clients,” says Thomas Piske.
Yuri Bender, jury member and Editor-in-Chief of PWM, sees LGT’s success as a leading provider of alternative investments in its expertise and its forward-looking approach: “LGT differentiated itself from the approximately 20 other competitors by its core competency and innovation in alternative and sustainable investments in particular.”
The Global Private Banking Awards were awarded by the Financial Times publications Professional Wealth Management and The Banker for the tenth time this year. They are among the internationally most renowned awards in the private banking sector. Among other aspects, the independent jury consisting of 15 experts evaluated the banks’ alternative investment opportunities and growth strategies.
